Roland Etienne has 35 years’ experience in tax consultancy. After working for the Big4 for 15 years, 5 of which as the partner in charge of a tax department in Geneva, for the last 20 years he has chosen to work in more reasonably sized international companies to have more hands-on involvement in tax affairs.
In 2006 he joined Baker Tilly Spiess SA, leaving in 2011 and rejoining the company in 2017. Although he advises both companies and individuals, he is particularly interested in tax planning and optimisation, which involve minimising tax while reducing the tax risks in both the short and long terms.
Professional qualifications and memberships
Roland Etienne is a qualified tax expert. He holds an MSc in Business Administration from HEC (Faculty of Business and Economics) Lausanne.
He is an honorary member (and a former president) of the Ordre Romand des Experts Fiscaux (OREF; Association of Tax Experts in French-Speaking Switzerland) and a member of the Association Suisse des Experts Fiscaux Diplômés (ASEFID; Swiss Association of Qualified Tax Experts) and EXPERTsuisse.
