On 1 January 2010 the new federal law on VAT came in to force. The main changes are found in this bulletin. Independently, the Swiss electorate on 27 September 2009 voted for an increase in VAT to subsidize Disability Insurance, this increase comes in to force in 2011 and has a duration of 7 years.
